Plymouth 400th Committee Branding Sub-Committee Minutes Agency Interviews Branding Sub-Committee Members in attendance – Paula Peters, Chair; Paul Cripps; David Kirkpatrick Invited Guests from Agencies – Terrence Kevin O’Leary (Kevin) of TKO Creative; Ted Schlueter and Angelia Snellen of Crunch Brand Communications; Mary Shields, Marty Baker, Sally McCarthy, Tim Dwyer and Katie McLaughlin of Shields Design Studio The Branding Sub-Committee meeting commenced at 11:14 AM. Three meetings were scheduled, where each agency invited to present was given 1 hour to demonstrate their experience and skills as they relate to branding for Plymouth 400. Tim Dwyer and Katie McLaughlin, Interns for Shields Design Studio, were in attendance as members of the public for all three meetings. They were not present for sub-committee deliberations. Kevin O’Leary of TKO Creative presented for approximately one hour beginning at 11:14 AM. Kevin emphasized Brand ID design and used 13 brands designed by TKO as examples of their work, and discussed the process for branding. Ted Schlueter and Angelia Snellen of Crunch Brand Communications met with the Sub-Committee at approximately 12:30PM. They presented a review of case studies, discussed process and demonstrated their core offerings – logo, tag line, color story, and font family. Marty Baker provided the presentation for Shields Design Studio, with Mary Shields and Sally McCarthy adding to the conversation. Shields has a great deal of experience with merchandising and promotion. Following the meetings with agencies, the Sub-Committee deliberated on bringing one agency back for a meeting with the Plymouth 400 Committee. After thoughtful discussion, David Kilpatrick made the motion to ask TKO Creative to attend the next Plymouth 400 Meeting to, Paula Peters seconded the motion, and on a vote of 2-1, the Sub-Committee decided to ask TKO Creative to attend the next Plymouth 400 Committee meeting on January 25, 2010 at the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce. Sub-Committee Chair Paula Peters will contact Kevin O’Leary on Monday, January 11, 2010 to ask him to attend the meeting, where he will be asked to make a short presentation about what his agency can do to create a brand for Plymouth 400.
